  • Spring Phillies’ RBI League (Catto Youth Baseball League): An introductory competitive opportunity for children in two age groups, 7-9 and 10-12. This spring, Brewerytown’s squads participated in the Catto Youth Baseball League with programs from Strawberry Mansion, Germantown, and West Philly. Practices ran twice/week, with games played on Fridays and Saturdays between late-March and early-June.

  • Winter Indoor Wiffle Ball: A free community-building program for kids ages 6-13, hosted at W.D. Kelley School in Brewerytown. Sessions included fast-paced skill rotations and games and helped prepare participants for game-based play in the spring. Held in partnership with the North Philly Camelots, Up2Us Sports, and the Philadelphia Youth Sports Collaborative.

  • Sunday Bagels & Baseball: An introductory program for boys and girls ages 5-13 hosted most Sunday mornings, between September 15-October 31, from 10:30 - noon. No equipment or prior experience was required, and all participants received breakfast each week. This was an opportunity to connect with other kids through noncompetitive baseball, with drills and games facilitated by coaches from Give & Go Athletics and The On Deck Circle.

About the Brewerytown Baseball Program

Give and Go runs a three-season baseball program in Brewerytown for youth ages 5-13. The team practices independently and collaboratively with other local nonprofits January through October at the historic Athletic Square Park (27th and Master/Jefferson), the site of the first recorded interracial and National League baseball games. Give and Go baseball coaches prioritize community-building, long-term athlete development, and cultivating a love for the game. Practices feature a mix of creative drills and games intended to foster positive relationships, build motor skill function, teach baseball fundamentals, and introduce youth to baseball-style games they can play together outside of practice. The program is open to youth of any experience level.
