Youth Brewerytown Baseball Program

Give and Go will offer four youth baseball/softball programs in 2024.

  • Sunday Bagels & Baseball: A free, drop-in program for boys and girls ages 6-12 hosted most Sunday mornings, between April 7 - October 27, from 10:30 - noon. No equipment or prior experience is required, and all participants will receive breakfast each week. This is an opportunity to connect with other kids through noncompetitive baseball, with drills and games facilitated by Give & Go Athletics coaches.

  • Spring Developmental Program: $50/player, with scholarships available. Registration is open to kids age 6-12, regardless of experience. The season runs from April 9 - June 8, with 1-2 practices/week on weeknights and a game most Saturdays against teams from northwest Philly. All registrants will receive a t-shirt, and hat.

  • Summer Competitive Program: $75/player, with scholarships available. Registration is open to kids age 7-11 who have played at least one season of organized baseball or softball. The season runs from June 11 - July 27, with 1 practice/week on a weeknight and up to 2 games/week against teams across North Philly. Exceptionally advanced players may be referred out to more competitive programs in the city. All registrants will receive a jersey and hat.

  • Fall Introductory Program with the On Deck Circle: $25/player, with scholarships available. A 4-6 week introductory program for kids age 4-12, hosted on Sunday mornings during Sunday Bagels & Baseball. No equipment or prior experience is required; all are welcome.

About the Brewerytown Baseball Program

Give and Go runs a three-season baseball program in Brewerytown for youth ages 4-12. The team practices independently and collaboratively with other local nonprofits January through October at the historic Athletic Square Park (27th and Master/Jefferson), the site of the first recorded interracial and National League baseball games. Give and Go baseball coaches prioritize community-building, long-term athlete development, and cultivating a love for the game. Practices feature a mix of creative drills and games intended to foster positive relationships, build motor skill function, teach baseball fundamentals, and introduce youth to baseball-style games they can play together outside of practice. The program is open to youth of any experience level.
